For our location in vibrant Berlin, we are looking for a
Data Scientist – Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d)

Your area of responsibility:

• Design, develop and implement data science and machine learning models in proof-of-concepts and prototypes
• Develop, optimize, standardize and implement data science and machine learning solutions at scale in data pipelines and distributed systems (e.g. Hadoop/Spark/Kubernetes ecosystem)
• Engineer at scale using service-oriented architecture, containerized applications and functions as a service, especially in cloud service environments (i.e. IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, FaaS)
• Optimize data science and machine learning models using high-performance computing (e.g. GPGPU) and real-time techniques (e.g. messaging/streaming services, reactive programming)

Your profile:

• Master's degree in Statistics/Econometrics/Data Science, or related field with a quantitative focus (Mathematics/Physics/Economics); PhD welcome but not required
• Experience and/or strong interest in analytics in the (digital) marketing field (pricing/promotion optimization, product optimization, category management, Customer Lifetime Value modeling, sales forecasting, etc.) would be a plus
• Very good statistical modeling skills (machine learning, econometric modeling)
• Experience in development of custom machine learning models from prototyping to scalable implementation would be a strong plus
• Strong product mindset – develop models with scalable implementation in mind
• Ideally experience with software development practices
• Good understanding of and experience in statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms, predictive analytics is a must; Bayesian statistics would be a plus
• Good knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, R)
• Good knowledge of at least one statistical software package (SPSS, SPSS Modeler, SAS or similar tools)
• Expert skills in at least one objective oriented programming language (Scala, Python, Java, C++)
• Experience in working in Big Data environments and using Big Data frameworks (Hive, Spark, Hadoop),
• Experience with scalable machine learning frameworks like H2O or Spark MLlib would be a plus
• Solid knowledge of cloud computing environments and tooling (AWS, Azure)
